Mark M. Zandi is chief economist of Moody’s Analytics, where he directs economic research. A trusted adviser to policymakers and an influential source of economic analysis for businesses, journalists and the public, Dr. Zandi frequently testifies before Congress on topics including the economic outlook, the nation’s daunting fiscal challenges, the merits of fiscal stimulus, financial regulatory reform, and foreclosure mitigation.
Colonel Athens recently left the federal government, having served for the past decade as the Director of the U.S. Naval Academy’s Vice Admiral James B. Stockdale Center for Ethical Leadership and previously, as the Naval Academy’s first Distinguished Military Professor of Leadership. Colonel Athens is a retired Marine Corps officer with command and staff assignments in all four Marine Aircraft Wings and an instructor tour with Marine Aviation Weapons and Tactics Squadron One (the Marine Corps’ equivalent to the Navy’s Top Gun school). He also served as a White House Fellow under President Ronald Reagan and the Special Assistant to the NASA Administrator following the Space Shuttle Challenger accident. Colonel Athens currently speaks around the country about leading with integrity and works alongside leaders to help them fulfill their personal and professional calling.
John Baer is a Managing Director focusing on credit assessment and origination solutions. John has worked with clients around the world designing and developing credit risk solutions specifically targeted on borrower and transaction risk. John works closely with the RiskAnalyst and RiskOrigins solutions that are used by over 200,000 risk minded end users. These risk management software solutions include origination and risk monitoring work flow tools, counterparty risk rating models, portfolio exposure monitoring products, and spreading applications. Prior to Moody’s Analytics, John was with Ernst & Young advising private equity and corporate clients on investment acquisitions. John specialized in financial due diligence, working alongside commercial lenders valuing and assessing the risk of targeted transactions. John holds a certificate of Certified Public Accountant.
Brandon began his career with Security Bank in Laurel as a college intern in 2000 and transitioned to a full-time position as loan officer when he graduated from Wayne State College in 2001. He has been the Branch President in Hartington since 2005 and added the responsibility of Chief Credit Officer for the bank in 2013. He completed his Master’s Degree from Wayne State College in 2003 and also received a diploma from the Graduate School of Banking in Boulder, Colorado in 2007. Brandon has been active with the Nebraska Bankers Association, graduating from their Leadership Program in 2010 and serving on numerous committees. Brandon was raised in Plainview, Nebraska and has been very involved in the Hartington community since his arrival. He has served on the Economic Development Board, the Holy Trinity Finance Committee, the Welcome Committee, the Hartington Golf Board, the Community Redevelopment Authority and the Revolving Loan Fund Committee. His passion outside of banking is playing golf and basketball and spending time with his wife and 4 sons, ages 14, 12, 10 and 8.
Keith Berry is the Founder and Executive Director of the Moody’s Analytics Accelerator based in New York.The Moody's Analytics Accelerator identifies new business opportunities and rapidly prototypes them using Lean Startup techniques. We work closely with customers to achieve product market fit and then bring these new products to market.We partner with startups and use the latest advances in artificial intelligence, machine learning and data analytics to build transformational new products.Keith has lived and worked in London, San Francisco, Paris and Hong Kong and has an MBA from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
Josh Burke is an Assistant Director in the Credit Assessment and Origination division of Moody’s Analytics. Josh is responsible for meeting with the leaders of the largest financial institutions in the country to learn more about current processes and propose new state of the art lending solutions. Josh has been with Moody’s Analytics for 3 years and is completing his MBA at Creighton University focused on Finance and Business Intelligence and Analytics. Prior to working at Moody’s, Josh earned his degree in Marketing and Economics, also from Creighton University.
Victor Calanog is Chief Economist and Senior Vice President at Reis, a division of Moody’s Analytics. He and his team of economists and analysts are responsible for the firm’s market forecasting, valuation, and real estate portfolio analytics services.
Dr Calanog’s research has received awards and fellowship support from several institutions, including the Ford Foundation, the Russell Sage Foundation and the Penn Lauder Center for International Business Research.
A prodigious researcher with broad interests, his papers in real estate economics, local government competition, and urban fiscal policy have been presented in meetings of the American Economic Association, the American Finance Association, the Brookings Institution, and discussed in academic forums sponsored by Harvard Business School, Columbia University, Stanford University, the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, and the Stern School of Business at New York University.
Annie Choi is a Senior Director of Product Management in the Enterprise Risk Solutions division of Moody’s Analytics. Annie has over 20 years of experience managing and designing software, the last 15 within the financial services industry. Annie has been with Moody’s Analytics since 2008, leading creative technology teams. She is currently responsible for the Moody’s Analytics Credit Assessment and Origination product, documentation, user experience, and training teams. Prior to joining Moody’s Analytics, she worked for Bank of America as a user experience manager focusing on their credit card online experience. Annie is currently based in San Francisco and is co-executive sponsor of the Moody’s Analytics San Francisco Women’s Employee Resource Group.
Sohini Chowdhury is a Director and Senior Economist with Moody’s Analytics, specializing in macroeconomic modeling and forecasting, scenario design, and market risk research, with a special focus on stress testing and CECL applications. Previously, she led the global team responsible for the Moody’s Analytics market risk forecasts and modeling services while managing custom scenarios projects for major financial institutions worldwide.An experienced speaker, Sohini often presents at client meetings and industry conferences on macroeconomic models, scenarios and CECL solutions. Sohini holds a PhD and a master’s degree in economics from Purdue University, and a master’s degree in applied statistics from West Chester University in Pennsylvania.
Jim Gleason is the Managing Director in CA&O for Moody’s Analytics Lending solutions and is leading the Omaha office in delivering MA product offering in a cloud environment. Jim joined the company in 2000 and manages the Research and Development, Product, Information Technology, Professional Services, Human Resources and Finance departments Lending Cloud - A Moody’s Analytics Company. Shawn Gregrich joined the training team in 2008 with over 17 years of banking experience. During his time with Moody’s, Shawn authored elearning, including simulations, Coach scenarios, and new titles; instructed in the classroom; managed a sales territory; and, most recently, worked as a Learning Partner – supporting clients around the world to deploy the right training solutions to meet their needs.
Shawn started his career with KeyBank as a management intern and was exposed to all facets of banking. During his time at KeyBank, Shawn worked as a Credit Analyst, Credit Department Manager, Underwriting Officer, Credit Officer and District Credit Officer.
Chris Henkel is a Director in the Enterprise Risk Solutions group where he leads risk management engagements throughout North America. He has extensive experience in commercial credit and financial analysis,portfolio management, asset quality, loan loss reserve methodologies,credit administration, process redesign, safety & soundness examinations,and credit risk modeling. Mr. Henkel leverages this vast experience to offer advisory services and custom quantitative risk solutions to his clients. John Kain leads Amazon Web Services’ (AWS) worldwide business and market development efforts for the capital markets segment of the Financial Services industry. Prior to Moody's, Fahid worked at Dovetail Systems, a real-time payments processing software company that is now part of Fiserv. Before that, he was at an international trade finance software company implementing solutions around the globe and at Hewitt, now part of Aon, implementing defined contribution solutions on an HR Business Process Outsourcing platform for large clients. Fahid holds a BA from Rutgers University in Mathematics and an MBA from NYU Stern with dual specialization in Finance and Management of Technology and Operations.
Dr. Kohl is Professor Emeritus of Agricultural Finance and Small Business Management and Entrepreneurship at Virginia Tech, Blacksburg, VA. Dr. Kohl currently energizes agricultural lenders, producers, and business people with his keen insight into the agricultural industry gained through extensive travel, research, and exposure during his career. He has traveled over 9 million miles in his career; conducted more than 6,500 workshops and seminars for agricultural audiences; published more than 2,250 articles; and writes for many leading publications. Dr. Kohl was recently inducted into the Virginia Tech College of Agriculture and Life Sciences Hall of Fame. Dr. Kohl’s personal involvement with agriculture and interaction with key industry players provide a unique perspective into future trends of the agricultural industry and economy.
Kelly Lammers is the Deputy Director Financial Institutions with the Nebraska Department of Banking and Finance. He is responsible for managing the Department Financial Institution licensing and examination operations which includes Nebraska chartered banks, credit unions, trust companies, money transmitters, and mortgage bankers to name a few of the 28 licensing types. Kelly also serves on the Board of Trustees for the Conference of State Bank Supervisors (CSBS) Educational Foundation and is a member of the CSBS State Supervisory Processes Committee.

Anne Martinez serves as an Executive Vice President and Senior Loan Review Officer at Southside Bank. She has been employed by Southside for 20 years and held credit and risk analyst positions prior to her current position in loan review where she has been for the past 11 years. In addition to managing the loan review department, she is also responsible for the allowance process and the transition to CECL. Prior to joining Southside, she was an analyst with Norwest Bank where she completed their College of Commercial Credit.

Bilge Ozcay is a Director at Moody's Analytics leading client implementation projects and serving as an SME on Asset Liability Management, Funds Transfer Pricing and Liquidity Stress Testing. He designed and managed the development of various features of the Moody's Analytics ALM product, such as Funds Transfer Pricing, Interest Rate Hedging Strategy and Balance Sheet Simulation. Prior to joining Moody’s Analytics, Bilge worked as a Business Analyst Lead at JP Morgan Chase, implementing firm-wide liquidity stress testing infrastructure and building liquidity stress test models for securities portfolios. Before that, Bilge worked on developing a real-time balance sheet application for collateral trading and led the analysis and delivery of the optimization of OTC derivatives margin at UBS Investment Bank. Cristina Pieretti is a Managing Director at Moody’s Analytics, where she oversees REIS, MA’s most recent acquisition. Before this, Cristina was driving efforts in Moody’s Analytics Accelerator to identify, research, and develop new business opportunities, with a special focus in new technologies. She was also responsible for evolving the company’s innovation processes.Prior to this role, Cristina was Senior Director of Executive Programs, in which she coordinated and executed a wide variety of initiatives across Moody’s Analytics. Cristina joined Moody's in 2008, and held product management roles in the structure finance and credit risk measurement businesses.Prior to joining Moody's Analytics, Cristina worked in banking, where she participated in multiple transactions in Latin America. Coreen Rafert is currently a Case Manager with the FDIC in the Kansas City region. Her career with the agency has spanned 30 years, and it includes significant time spent as a bank examiner in Nebraska leading examinations of ag-focused institutions. Coreen earned her CPA certificate in 1998 and currently serves on committees as a regional accounting and agricultural expert. Coreen grew up on a small family farm, and she and her husband have two boys and operate a row crop farm business in central Nebraska.
Gregory Robinson is a newly promoted Enterprise Risk Solutions (ERS) Sales Manager with responsibilities in both our Credit Assessment and Origination (CAO) & Banking Regulatory Technology (BRT) Product Suites. Prior to his new role, he served as CAO Product Specialist – focused on selling our credit decisioning platforms such as RiskAnalyst, Lending Cloud and CreditLens. As a Product Specialist, he was responsible for prospect identification, relationship building and new sales opportunities for his territory, which included the West Coast, Western Canada, DC, the US Farm Credit System and other select Tier 1 customers. He currently serves as the Lead for the MERG’s Retention subcommittee and as a working group member for MERG’s Black History Month Committee.
Tony Ross’ thirty (30) year career in banking has included general management, new business development, credit analysis, credit administration, and capital markets experience. Concurrently, Tony held a succession of increasingly more responsible positions within the Florida Army National Guard and the U.S. Army Reserve retiring in 2012 at the rank of Lieutenant Colonel, Infantry. He is a veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Mr. Ross joined Woodforest National Bank in 2016 in The Woodlands (Houston) as Chief Credit Officer where he is responsible for effective, sound, and consistent underwriting and management within the bank’s loan portfolio and the achievement of business goals related to loans and deposits, fee growth, profitability, client retention, and credit quality. Tony leads commercial, small business, and consumer underwriting, credit risk, real estate risk, loan review, and credit policy. He serves on many of the bank’s committees including credit, ALCO, compliance, BSA, IT, and business continuity. Tony is also a past Chairman of the Risk Management Association (RMA) Gulf Coast Chapter, past President of RMA’s Texas Chapter, and is RMA-Credit Risk Certified. Additionally, Mr. Ross serves on the faculty of the Consumer Bankers Association Executive Banking School.
Michael facilitates development of small business lending and credit decisioning solutions for financial institutions. As a member of the Moody’s Analytics Small Business Initiative, he provides industry insights from past experience in the commercial banking and fintech sectors. Prior to joining Moody’s Analytics, Michael served as Customer Success Director for fintech start-up Fundera, a marketplace created to connect small business owners with banks and alternative lenders. Michael also spent several years with PNC Bank, starting with the commercial underwriting group and then transitioning to the business bank segment, supporting small businesses in obtaining financing through SBA loan programs. Michael holds a BS in Finance with an Economics minor from The College of Business Administration of the University of Pittsburgh.
Vivek leads the product development for new Commercial Real Estate initiatives in the Emerging Business Unit at Moody’s Analytics. His team partners with startups in the space to build innovative solutions for CRE professionals. Vivek is also exploring new product initiatives using distributed ledger technology. Prior to his current role, he led the Structured Finance Valuations & Advisory group at Moody’s Analytics. Shayne Tobaben is an Enterprise Risk Solutions Sales Manager with responsibilities in our Credit Assessment and Origination (CAO) selling both loan origination and regulatory platforms. Prior to his current management role, he served as CAO Product Specialist – focused on selling our credit decision platforms such as Moody’s Lending Cloud, RiskAnalyst, and CreditLens. As a Product Specialist, he was responsible for prospect identification, relationship building and new sales opportunities for his territory, which included the Gulf Coast states and Western Canada for tier 2 financial institutions.
As manager of the Whole Loan group, Mr. Toohig’s primary responsibilities include day-to-day trading of whole loan packages, portfolio analysis, transaction management and the structuring of whole loan, participation and various structured products. Mr. Toohig’s product focus encompasses both seasoned and new production: residential mortgages (both QM and Non-QM), commercial mortgages, consumer lending, scratch and dent loans, and non-performing assets. Prior to joining the Whole Loan group at Raymond James, Mr. Toohig was a part of the firm’s Taxable Banking platform where he was responsible for corporate debt transactions, trust preferred securities, sale leaseback transactions and ABS transactions.
Colin Whitehouse is a Director within Learning Solutions where he leads a team helping financial service clients improve their credit analysis skills. Colin’s teaching background, partnered with his experience in the training industry, provides a collaborative approach to developing successful learning solutions aligned to an organization’s strategic initiatives. He began his career as a high school teacher, and transitioned to the corporate world, spending 15 years with Learning Tree International, a leading provider of IT and Project Management training. Prior to joining Moody’s Analytics, Colin led the North American sales team at Omega Performance, which was acquired by Moody’s Analytics in August 2018.
Elaine Wong is the Managing Director at Moody’s Analytics. She is the Global Head of Credit Assessment and Originations of Enterprise Risk Solutions. She is an expert related to banking risk management including model development, validation and calibration, credit portfolio performance and implementation of credit risk management systems. She has been advising clients related risk management and Basel related initiatives. She previously worked in various credit risk management functions at HSBC plc., Barclays Capital, Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein and Bank of Hawaii. Prior to joining Moody's Analytics, she was responsible for day-to-day project management of credit risk modeling efforts and model implementation related to Basel. Previously, she worked in various departments such as credit approval for individual obligors/groups in various industries and the country risk management and special projects related to limit implementation across the globe.
